The following is a message from Debbie Hurdle, Clerk to Send Parish Council:

Dear Send Groups and Organisations

Further to our email advising you that the Annual Parish Meeting on 30th March is cancelled, we would also like you to know that due to the current situation with Covid-19 the parish office is closed until further notice. However you are welcome to contact us by telephone on 01483 479312 or by email to clerk@sendparishcouncil.gov.uk.

The Parish Council has a number of resources to communicate with the public and therefore please let us know if there is anything we can do for you to let people know in Send about what your group or organisation is doing or any information you would like us to pass on. In turn, we would be grateful if you could also pass on information from us to your members.

With this in mind please can we remind you about the community aid group which has been organised by volunteers in Send. We greatly appreciate the work they are doing . See information below from the group:

‘Hello,
I’m writing to let you know of a community aid group that has set up to support our neighbours during the COVID19 pandemic. Anyone who is self-isolating, immunocompromised or vulnerable may need extra support over the next few weeks/months as we progress through such a challenging time.

We’re looking to support our neighbours with any or all of the following:
– doing shopping, collecting medicines and other essentials and dropping them off for people who need them
– walking dogs and/or caring for pets
– friendly telephone chats for anyone who might be feeling socially isolated

We’ve set up a facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/144056523591182/?multi_permalinks=144083496921818&notif_id=1584389655735636&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic

And if you’re interested in signing up to support please complete the form here: https://forms.gle/ERpwj7Xgf6aRS5Bv8

If you know of people that need support, or you yourself need any support please get in touch by calling 07401 224609 and leaving a message or by emailing sendcommunityaid@gmail.com

Thank you so much in advance, we’re better when we look after each other.
Ruth’

We look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Debbie Hurdle
