Send has lost a valued member of the local community to cancer. Nadine had lived on Send Road since 1982 with her husband Huntly and children Laochlainn and Hope. She could often be seen walking her large black Hungarian Pull dog around the village.

Nadine took a keen interest in local politics. During the six years she served on Send Parish Council, Nadine had a watching brief over the allotments near Danesfield, and cultivated one herself. She was a keen gardener and undertook some gardening work for others in later life. She was, of course, a member of Send Horticultural Society (now Send Gardening Society). She also volunteered along with Huntly for Send Help; and subsequently became a client during her final illness.

A talented seamstress, Nadine had made the dress, jacket and hat she is wearing in the photo on the Order of Service for the non-denominational celebration of her life held on 21 September at Guildford Crematorium, with Tony Shutt officiating. This was followed by a wake in the Evangelical Church hall.

We send our heartfelt sympathy to Nadine’s family and friends.
