A Spectacular Show Case of Bridal Dresses is being held in St. Mary's Church, Send, over the weekend of September 13/14th (Friday/ Saturday) 11am - 4pm and September 15th Sunday 12 - 5pm This Event will also include the Heritage Weekend.  All Welcome. The dresses have been loaned by the brides from different years who married at Send church. The photo is not one and is only intended to show a typical dress from the 1960s.

Choosing the Ripley Bonfire Queen

The Bonfire Queen is now in its 81st year, way before the Association was formed in 1955, when she was chosen by a packed hall of villagers and then there would have been a ball in honour of the newly crowned Queen. The Lancaster Hall committee are very pleased to announce they will be holding an event on Saturday 19th October to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of when the hall was gifted to the people of Send. It was donated by Arthur Henry Lancaster on the 14th October 1919 for the purpose of military training but also for educational and charitable purposes.
