A kind, thoughtful, gentle family man; a polite gentleman; a quirky sense of humour, a cheeky smile — these were among the oft-mentioned attributes of Patrick, whose passing came as a blow to the many who knew and respected him.

Most recently, Patrick was known as one of the Borough Councillors for Send on Guildford Borough Council, elected in May 2019. His contributions were respected across the party divide, and he spoke up for Send frequently at the Planning Committee.

Patrick had been for several years a frequent attendee at Send Parish Council meetings, and was a constructive speaker. He was unstinting with his time. Patrick had many enthusiasms, from his interest in dogs to his involvement in the History Society.

Patrick was respected as a straightforward, hard worker who paid attention to detail, working at a problem until he found an answer. He was willing to ask difficult, and sometimes mischievous, questions when needed.

Our sympathies go to Christina and all his family.
